Covering a distance of 1500 kms –The Exhilaration of what an ENDURANCE cycle ride has to offer conjures a vast mix of emotions. It is one of the most unadulterated route which will allure every rider while paddling.
This ride raises the spirits and evokes a sense of trance and achievement, crossing the vastness and diversity of North India, merging cultures of different states and finally into the ghats of Hoogly in Kolkata.
It may not be easy but it will be worth every moment traversing through these unknown territories on endless meandering and undulating highways, the numerous roadside dhabas serving delectable local cuisines or sweets like “pedas” of Mathura or “Pethas” of Agra
About the route and the ride
On a pleasant Autumn dawn of 19th October 2022, Signature Bridge - New Delhi will see the leap of faith of some Intrepid Cyclists taking on a herculean track and trail from Delhi to Kolkata,1500 kms to be traversed in 4 nights and 5 days.
Unending highways “Grand Trunk “road will be conquered by mind, mettle and metal. Starting from the Capital’s grand Signature bridge on river Yamuna , we will ride through the land of Lord Krishna in Mathura, playing hide and seek with river Yamuna all along will reach Agra- capital of Mughal Empire and housing of UNESCO World Heritage site of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort to name a few. Kanpurour next destination en-route is the “ Manchester of India “ is yet another city of importance on river Ganges.
The diversity of the terrain, culture, language, food will be amalgamated by the diversity of our Riders as we cut across India from North towards East…
Grit, gut, gumption, sweaty training, core muscle building is what it takes to set oneself for this hardcore endurance ride of a lifetime. Its not a race but a cycle journey and meant to be enjoyed!
The riders on their supreme bikes and sporty attire will ride about 280-350 Kms everyday through the states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and culminating this epic ride at 80 years old hallmark Howrah Bridge of Kolkata , West Bengal.
